Future Vision
Community Makers is currently organised under the parish council umbrella, which means our activities are covered by the council’s insurance. This setup allows us to get started quickly and safely, focusing on volunteering roles that support parish council projects and services.
But this is just the beginning.
Our long-term goal is for Community Makers to grow into a self-managing group with its own committee, able to work with a wider range of local organisations and take on a broader mix of community volunteering jobs. When the time is right, we hope the group will be able to arrange its own insurance and operate independently—while still keeping strong links with the parish council and other partners.
This approach gives us the best of both worlds: a safe and supported starting point, and a flexible, community-led future.
